Self Directed Support - Learning sessions with In control Scotland

The next taster session facilitated by Pauline and Keith from In Control Scotland will be:

• Tuesday 19th April 2022, 10-11am - Please contact In Control Scotland as per the above poster.  

Pauline and Keith from In Control Scotland will facilitate a course which will run over 2 half days on the following dates:

• Thursday 19th May 2022, 09:30 - 12:30 and Thursday 2nd June 2022, 09:30 - 12:30 - This will be on line.

We will release a further date soon for a face to face session for September 2022

Session 1 of these 2 half days  - Getting to grips with the basics

Participants will learn the basics of Self Directed Support  with the session covering:

• The values and Principles of self-directed support
• The 4 options
• Self-directed support in practice
• Good conversations and support planning
• Identifying barriers, blockages and obstacles

Session 2 of these 2 half days - Getting the best out of SDS

Participants will build on the knowledge from the first session and from their own practice, with the sessions covering:

• Overcoming barriers
• Moving from hours to outcomes
• Risking a real life
• Inclusive decision making and co-production
• Bringing it all together
