Share and Care Together
We are a growing movement in Tayside, working together to improve Mental Health and Learning Disability care and support. We are a small group of service users, researchers, carers, and staff supported by NHS mental health programme board. Our approach is person-centred, inclusive, and rooted in real experiences. We believe that by listening, learning, and sharing stories, we can create meaningful change.
The journey started with influence by the Strang Report, which identified five cross-cutting themes essential to improving mental health services in Tayside:
- Strategic service design
- Clarity of governance and leadership responsibility
- Engaging with people
- A culture of learning
- Effective communication
Our ambition is to do things differently, keeping people at the heart of everything we do. We explored potential during a design event with a wide group of stakeholders.
We also embrace co-design principles in everything we do:
- We are questioning. When faced with barriers, we look for opportunities.
- We work in a human-centred way, with empathy at the heart of every interaction.
- We collaborate and co-create, enriching others through every connection.
- We communicate creatively, exploring new and effective ways to connect.
- We iterate—making, testing, and learning—understanding that failure is an opportunity to grow.
Together, we are creating a space where everyone’s voice matters, and where shared stories lead to shared solutions.
| Our Vision |
| At Share and Care Together, our vision is to take a person-centred, inclusive approach to mental health and learning disability support. We aim to listen deeply, learn from shared stories, and work collaboratively to influence care and support services across Tayside—making lives better for everyone. |
