Meet the Project Team

Hello & welcome to the project team page.

Here you can meet the people who are in the team and read their story.

Hello there, I’m Moyra and I believe in better and I love that I have this opportunity to work as part of this collaborative! I work as part of the Learning and Development (L&D) Team in PKC, within Adult Social Work and Social Care as part of the Health and Social Care Partnership. It matters to me that we can support true co design in L&D and work with others to support how, we all work together, enable meaningful change, and support us all to choose, actively participate and collaborate in how we live life well.

I am excited about what could be possible within this project, the opportunities to work with others, and how we can make a difference together to how we do things here in P&K.

Hello, my name is Leigh Must and I work in the Learning and Development Team in Perth & Kinross HSCP. I am excited be a part of the project team.  Being able to explore how we can redesign day support for the future using a co-design model is fantastic. Collaborating with people who access our services, their families, support networks and partnership colleagues can truly create person centred services.

Pic to come..

Hi my name is Shona Thomson and I am the community support manager with  Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership. I oversee leaning and older peoples day opportunity services, the supported living team and the employment support team. I am so fortunate to be working on this project as I truly believe we will be participating in a co-designed venture involving all at the heart of it. It is a fantastic opportunity to make sure we listen, do what matters and get it right for individuals, carers and the community.

I'm Gillian Charleson, the mother of a young man with Down's Syndrome who uses Day Support services. I'm also Trustee and Secretary of a small local charity, Strathearn Building Bridges Inc (SCIO No SC048085). We provide a focus for community-based initiatives to support people with learning and other disabilities and their carers. Our aims are to enhance integration, reduce isolation and raise community awareness. We work with a wide range of partners to deliver social, sport and leisure activities for our members in the Crieff and Strathearn area - online since lockdown, but looking forward to getting back face to face! I got involved with the Collaborative to help give a voice to our members. I'm really excited by the shared vision and values of the team, as well as the commitment to the principles of true co-design and getting it right for individuals, carers and the community.

Hi my name is Yvonne Henderson and I am the co-ordinator for the Perth & Kinross Project Team. I am very excited to be part of this project in redesigning day services for people who have learning disabilities. As administrative assistant for the Policy and Commissioning Team it gives me insight in the day opportunities that are available to people with learning disabilities. There is a need for change and to give people at the centre of this project a voice which is vital in reshaping day services. I believe day services should be shaped to suit everyone of varying needs and there should be more opportunities for people who live in rural communities. The pandemic has brought about massive change to people’s lives and I believe this has identified the changes that are needing to be made in day services. I believe people with learning disabilities deserve to have a day service that enables them to reach their full potential and most importantly makes them feel happy.

Hi, my name is Fiona Angus, and I am a Community Engagement Worker who works as part of the wider Perth & Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). My role involves linking the work of the HSCP with local communities. This involves engaging and consulting with service users, unpaid carers, and communities and working alongside local groups to develop initiatives and raise awareness of developments in Health and Social Care.

I am keen to help and support others to live their best life and I am enjoying being part of a diverse project team who are exploring the redesign of day services for people with learning disabilities. It’s great having team members from different areas including Scottish Autism, ARC Scotland, Building Bridges along with someone with lived experience who brings a fresh insight to the group.

A key part of my role is helping communities find their voice and I’m looking forward to helping with this as part of this project. It is essential carers, individuals and the community have an input into shaping things which affect their lives ensuring a consistent, quality service, regardless of where they live

I’m Suzanne; I am a mum, a friend, and a nurse, working for the Perth & Kinross Partnership as a Clinical Nurse Educator. My passion is reflective practice, and I believe that ““There is only one way to see things, until someone shows us how to look at them with different eyes” . “ Pablo Picasso. Collaboration is central to the richness of any work I am involved in. Being inclusive is a value that I hold firmly.

I am excited about being part of this project and keen to learn while collaborating and co-designing with fellow team members. I cannot wait to hear from the different voices that will be crucial to support this project through each stage of the process.
