Digital and Data Capabilities Learning
This page is dedicated to showcasing the incredible free resources that are on offer to support the development of digital capabilities across the health and social care workforce in Scotland. These resources are hosted on NES learning sites and are applicable to everyone working in health and social care (including NHS, Local Authorities, Health and Social Care Partnerships, Social Work, Social Care, Care and Support Providers, Housing, Third and Independent Sectors). The resources are aligned to the Digital Health and Care Strategy and Care in the Digital Age delivery plan, and are designed for individuals, managers, strategic leaders, and organisations. On this page, we will provide comprehensive guidance to help you navigate these resources and apply them to your work.
The Digital and Data Capability Framework

Assess your current digital capability levels. The framework identifies the digital skills, knowledge, and behaviours the workforce needs to do their job and deliver safe and good quality care and support. How you apply the framework, and use it to promote learning and development, is up to you and your organisation. Guidance for individuals, managers / team leaders and organisations can be found on the framework site:
Digital and Data Capability Framework Site.
The web page above is built within this Turas site. You can navigate around using the menu on the left hand side. What you see on the menu will change depending where you are but you can get back to this page at any time by clicking on Digital and Data Capability Framework at the top of the Menu. You will also find various links at the top and bottom of some pages that will help you navigate the site. For more information on navigating see the How to use the Framework page.
To support the development of digital and data capabilities across the workforce we have centralised relevant learning resources within an online hub. The hub hosts free content to ensure that staff are able to build the digital and data capabilities required to do their job and develop their career.
Resources have been tailored to provide learning content in a range of different formats and lengths and are organised into 6 capability areas linked to the framework, that make it easier to find relevant learning resources. Within each area you will see them broken down further and you can access specific learning resources that also tell you how long the will take to complete.
