Foundations in Palliative and End of Life Care

Two Day Course - 06 & 13.05.20

Based on Macmillan Foundations in Palliative Care

 This two day course provides an introduction to the principles of palliative and end of life care and how these can apply to anyone with a life limiting illness. It explores the importance of taking a holistic approach to the provision of palliative and end of life care and support. This includes how we can help manage pain and other symptoms and care in the last days of life. We consider the importance of effective communication with the person, those that matter to them and with the wider care team. The impact of loss on people receiving or providing care and support is also discussed.

 This course will support development of knowledge and skills at skilled level of the NES SSSC Palliative and End of Life Care Enriching and Improving Experience Framework.

The course is based on Macmillan Foundations in Palliative Care.

These sessions are jointly facilitated by Perth and Kinross Council Learning and Development Team and NHS Tayside Palliative Care Team

Please only book a maximum of 2 places per team or care home on each course.
