To effectively communicate, we must realise that we are all different in the way we perceive this world and use this understanding as a guide to our communication with others.

You can use them to support your personal learning as well as within team or group learning spaces.

To help you navigate your way through this learning, please use the following questions for your reflection, consideration and discussion. You can document this as part of your record of learning and use within your supervision and development discussions.

- What does this make you think about?

- How do you feel after watching/listening/reading this?

- Why do you think this has provoked these thoughts and feelings?

- What has this reaffirmed for you about how you work?

- What does this mean in relation to how you work right now?

- Is there anything you want to change about how you work now?

- If you want to change something, what do you need to do now?

Video

The Carnegie UK Trust has created a beautiful and heartwarming 11 minute video. We hear stories from people and volunteers with Resonate Together, Tesco and The Food Train which demonstrates places of kindness and the difference it makes to people.

Another video below from The Carnegie UK Trust where it talks about the practice of kindness within organisations. The video is slightly over 10 minutes long.

The video below is  3 minutes 17 seconds explaining the Health & Social Care Standards through personal stories. A great watch  to see the difference the standards can make to people receiving Health & Social Care.

The video below is a creation from Talking Mats called " A digital story: Improved communication" It is a short video of 3 minutes 12 seconds where you will hear a very personal story from James and Maureen and how using Talking Mats has supported James to say what he needs as he struggles to find the right words.
