You will find resources here to support you with meal preparation, handling food safely and supporting people with nutrition.

 

 Care should be taken when handling food:

  • Make sure when handling food that you have washed your hands and that any work surfaces or utensils are clean.
  • Check the fridge/freezer to ensure that foods are not past their ‘sell by date’.
  • Do not store cooked and uncooked meat together.
  • When preparing food make sure that chilled foods are cooked properly and that frozen food has defrosted (unless indicated on the meal that is should be cooked from frozen).
  • Before serving food, make sure it is piping hot.
